Setting up Throttling
Once a customer has reached their cap it is possible to throttle their connection to a slower speed.
1. Mikrotik Rate Limit:
In order to achieve this
Click => Network
=>Gateway Details
Under Traffic Shaping Bucket
Click => Table View
Search for the bucket you would like to change
Click => Radius Groups button to get the console
Fig 1.a Radius Groups Assigned to Bucket before Throttling is set up
Go to RADIUS => Group Reply
Review the list to find a throttled group that will give the customer the desired throttled speed
Click =>Add at the bottom to ensure that a new group called “(name chosen)_throttled” is created

2. Framed Pool:
Should you have a Framed-Pool for throttled customers you will need to add another attribute. This time "Choose from existing groups" and make sure to assign this attribute to the newly created throttled bucket “(name chosen)_throttled”

Now there will be a new group called “(name chosen)_throttled” created with two attributes:

3. For both Mikrotik Rate Limit and/or Framed Pool
You will then need to assign this to the bucket that you have just changed.
In order to achieve this
Click => Network
=>Gateway Details
Under Traffic Shaping Bucket
Click => Table View
Search for the Product
Click => Radius Groups
