There are no version numbers in SIMPLer.
Updates are continuously rolled out on a nightly basis, Monday to Thursday, to all servers.
There are several advantages to this approach over the Software Version model:
- the latest software is always available to all operators
- avoidance of many features being rolled out all at once (the big bang approach of Version releases)
In rare exceptions a new large feature may be updated to a single server to target the feature requested by an operator. This allows for testing and to iron out any issues.
Once that has been verified, typically within a few days, that server will be brought back into the SYNC'd servers so that all operators are able to enjoy the newly developed feature.
