How to see if an invoice has been successfully emailed to a customer

If you are in doubt that invoices are being emailed to customers there are a couple of things that can be checked in SIMPLer to find out if this is the case:

Step One:
Go to your customer account.  Click on "modify customer" (see fig.1)

Click on Banking Details which is the third tab on the left. (see fig.2)

Check that the send method is set to "email to customer". (see fig.3)

Step Two:
If the send method is set to email to customer the emails should go to the customer's accounts email so you will need to make sure that this is set correctly without spelling mistakes or invalid email addresses. Email field should also be populated. (see Fig.3)

If no email address has been set here your email will go by default to the address under "email" so it is important to make sure that every customer to receive invoices via email has this field updated.

Step Three:
If you are confident that these settings are correct on your customer's account then the next step is to check the mail log.  This is located under the contact details on your customer account.  (See Fig.4)

By clicking on this button a log of the most recent emails sent to customers will be downloaded to your computer.  If there has been any issue this log will show you the location of the errors.  The most frequent problem in receiving emails is that some emails may get dropped by spam filters at the destination or at the relay server so these settings should also be checked on the customer's side.
